Who can attend the NYG?

Although the NYG sessions are planned for Lutheran youth, we encourage your group to reach out and bring friends, because all youth are welcome to attend. We will provide pastoral support for questions about the teachings of the Lutheran church.

Youth who are between grades 7 to 12 in the June before the Gathering (ages 13-18) are welcome to attend as youth participants.

Anyone who has been out of high school (finished grade 12) for a period of one year prior to the NYG is able to serve as an iBod (or volunteer). These volunteers are vital to helping the NYG run smoothly. iBods help where needed and are provided with some group-specific programming as well! Not only are adults 21+ able to serve as iBods, but they are also able to serve as 7+1 youth leaders.

Lutherans from all countries are welcome. Youth groups from across Canada, the United States, and Australia have attended the Gathering in the past.
