Our Purpose

The Malabar Mission Society is a Listed Service Organization of Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC) serving to proclaim the Christian Gospel to Hindus and Muslims in Malabar and Anantapur in India.

What We Do

  • We promote the message of the Christian Gospel through the distribution of Bibles, Christian literature, and education materials for Sunday school, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and Bible correspondence courses.
  • Provide training and support for pastors, church workers, and lay people for Christian outreach in their communities in Malabar and Anantapur, India.
  • Provide financial support for tuition costs, training costs, education expenses, VBS costs, Bible correspondence costs, and child care expenses for those who otherwise would not be able to participate in the programs of the Society.
  • Provide support for nursery schools and reading rooms as outreach centres to Hindus, Muslims, and Christians.
  • Provide medical supplies and support for those in need. The Society purchases snake bite serum and other medicines, and pays for the costs of indigent patient care.
  • Provide support for repairs and maintenance of churches and reading rooms.
  • Provide teachers and leaders for ESL programs in Malabar.
  • The Project Officer annually visits the pastors and church workers to assess their needs and provide support and encouragement.
